Seriously? 19 Weeks!
I would not have ever admitted this at week 8 when I was dying on the couch thinking,
"Woe is me! I'll never make it to the second trimester! I'm dying!"
But, I think I can go ahead and tell you now that this pregnancy does seem to be going kind of quickly. When I think back to July/August, that seems forever ago and that's how long I've been pregnant. 19 weeks though, that sounds like a big number.
This week was a doozie! After coming back from our WONDERFUL vacay for Thanksgiving we swung into life at full speed. Maybe a little too much a little too soon.
It didn't help that both Cameron and I were pretty darn sick this week. He with a double ear infection and I with a sinus infection. By Wednesday, we had both spent a fair amount of time at the doctor and at the pharmacy. Both of us were lovely runny faced messes.
And Poor Lukas! This Thursday was the biggest night of his job as the engineering coach at his school and both Cameron and I were useless as of Wednesday morning. He was such a trooper though and the night went really well! There were over 500 people at his event and it was a big success. You can read his blog that he writes for his school if you go here.
As far as being pregnant goes:
-How far along? 19 Weeks
-Total weight gain/loss: Around 8 pounds on the plus side. This is more than last time so far, but I'm okay with that because last trimester I was losing weight!
-Maternity clothes? Yes. I even organized my closet today putting my "there's no way these clothes are going to fit me while I'm pregnant clothes" in the back of the closet.
-Sleep: Yeah, a sinus infection while being pregnant is not the best sleeping situation.
I can't believe I'm going to tell you this but I woke up in the middle of the night once this to Lukas' finger poking me in the face because I was snoring so loud. In my defense, I couldn't breathe due to clogged face and I'm pregnant. Both causes for snoring. This is not a regular occurence.
As if this makes it better, it didn't even occur to me that I was snoring. In fact, I thought he was telling me to turn over because I was blowing my morning breath on him. Because that would be FAR less embarassing. You would think that after almost 7 years of marriage that I wouldn't be self conscious about morning breath and my husband, but I think about it almost daily. Weird.
-Best moment this past week: I'd have to say that running into Jennifer at the CVS parking lot, in my pajamas, while picking up meds, as my child dumps an entire vanilla milkshake down himself, in the cold weather would have to be up there.
-Movement: Yes. A lot actually. It is one of my favorite things in the world!
-Food cravings: Same old same old. Coca cola. I am also a nut for candy this time.
-Gender: We won't know until December 15th. That's when we find out. (David- I don't know how to comment back other than here, so I just wanted to tell you that we don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet, but I did get your comment and I'm not ignoring it.)
-Labor Signs: No
-Button in or out? In. Cameron likes to point to my belly button while laughing and saying "Blah blah blah" aka Belly Button
-What I miss: Nose breathing
-What I am looking forward to: Decorating for Christmas!
-Weekly Wisdom:

This is useful this week in particular. With both Cameron and I being sick and all. But, I also think it's good for every day thinking too!
-Milestones: I think the closet rearranging pretty much sums it up for me!
And now the baby is...
A mango. We are 1/2 pound and 1/2 foot long. That is a real baby folks! Also, he or she can hear now and is really using his or her senses.
And here is what was going on when I was pregnant with Mr. Cameron at 19 weeks!
Trust me, Kelly, it never goes away! We have been married for over 40 years and I NEVER kiss him "good morning" until AFTER I have brushed my teeth!!
ReplyDeleteSorry you've been sick and with a sick kid too. Not fair! Hope you guys get well quickly and can be on your way to enjoying the season!! Love you!
Oh, and I bookmarked Lukas' school blog too. Hi Lukas!! Couldn't find a place to comment. Is it totally secure from outsiders?
